Ricardo Ferrer 李家豪
Ricardo was born in Barcelona, where he was immersed in the world of fashion and Luxury Brands since very young.
On his father's side, the family has produced high quality shirting fabrics since 1881, so stories of meetings with Ralph Laurent, the Zegna Family, Paul Smith etc. were common conversation topics at the family table. His mother, an art historian and fashion designer, managed and designed her own swimwear label in Barcelona. She made sure that Ricardo had visited all the main museums of Europe and USA by the age of 15.
Ricardo moved to Hong Kong in 1993 where he met and later married a local Eurasian, starting his immersion in to the Chinese culture.
In Hong Kong he started his business of garment making for European brands, like Carolina Herrera, Adolfo Dominguez, Zara group, Cortefiel group and El Corte Inglés group.
Having lived in Shanghai since 2006, he has had the privilege of watching China from two of its most dynamic cities: Hong Kong and Shanghai. Living in Shanghai and speaking Mandarin has enabled him to understand the intricacies of the Chinese mentality (having a Shanghainese mother in law also helps), and meet the local players in fashion and Luxury, who are now based mainly in Shanghai and Beijing.
Mixing this knowledge of luxury, fashion, and China is what makes Ricardo a one-off expert of the Chinese Market in this sector.
Ricardo has a degree in Business Administration from Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, (Barcelona), and a postgraduate degree from I.E.S.E. (Spain).
You can contact Ricardo in English, Spanish, Mandarin, French, Italian and Catalan.
